We are proud to provide continuing education, technical training, and professional development workshops and classes for electrical contractors. NNMIEC is one of 75 local chapters of the National Independent Electrical Contractors Association. For nearly five decades, the Independent Electrical Contractors, Inc. (IEC) as well as NNMIEC, at a local level for the past two decades, have overcome the challenges created by growth in the electrical industry.

We have built a reputation as the premier trade association for you, America's Independent Electrical and Communications Contractor. You can rest easier knowing that NNMIEC works aggressively with the industry and government to establish and maintain an open environment for the merit shop contractor. 85% of all electrical contractors nationwide take PRIDE in calling themselves "Independent".

The Electrical Apprenticeship Program is maintained by NNMIEC (Northern New Mexico Independent Electrical Contractors) which is an IEC contractor member organization.
NNMIEC has conducted our electrical apprenticeship program since 1981 under standards approved by the New Mexico State Apprenticeship Council and the U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training.
160 hours of classroom training per year with lectures, demonstrations, labs, and homework, and a comprehensive final that must be passed prior to graduating to the next level.
