Services
At Cole Electric, we specialize in upgrading electrical systems for Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth and Suffolk homeowners.
We do major improvements like rewiring and room additions, replacing worn out fuse or circuit breaker boxes, and adding three-prong outlets in historic homes.
We can also quickly take care of your simpler upgrades like adding or replacing ceiling fans lighting, dimmer switches, outlets, smart home devices and more.
Cole Electric understands that unpredictable things happen, which is why we offer 24-hour emergency service.
When you call, we will quickly work to understand the issue and arrive as fast as possible.
Whether you are experiencing a complete loss of power or have a single outlet not working, do not hesitate to call us at 757-498-2653.
When you call our team for a repair, we begin by listening to you to understand the problem.
We'll often offer troubleshooting ideas over the phone to help you solve it yourself.
The outlets may be connected to a GFCI that is tripped.
Sometimes we'll find that outlets in a different room have been connected to a GFCI and the homeowner doesn't know this.
It could be that one outlet has failed, causing those connected to it downstream to be effectively turned off.
This often happens if your outlets have been wired using a technique called "backstabbing".
If it is a fluorescent light fixture, a part inside the fixture, called the ballast, can wear out over time.
It can be replaced, but we recommend replacing the fixture with an equivalent LED fixture.
