Call
Call us before you start your next big or small project. We can work with you through the blue print design phase, service install, rough in, final inspection to putting the last light bulb in that beautiful ceiling fan. Building a new home or business, adding on an addition or upgrading and existing dwelling? Now more than ever you need a competent electrical contractor to calculate electrical loads and estimate future use before the foundation is poured.

You need someone who is aware of the current National Electrical Code, Pennsylvania Building Code pertaining to electrical wiring and someone who knows how to interface with the local municipalities and your utility provider. You need someone who is licensed and insured. Before the Uniform Construction Code enacted in the summer of 2004 only 55% of the municipalities in Pennsylvania had any type of electrical code.

Meanwhile, in Pennsylvania. How are Pennsylvania builders coping with the Uniform Construction Code, enacted in late summer of 2004?
Services
Services
Report
One of the first things I learned as a young electrician was service installations.
Knowing the process from permit pulling, receiving a job number from the utility, having an inspection performed to final crimp of the connection by the utility is an involved process of corroboration among many parties.
We have years of experience in overhead and lateral installations and are Fast Track qualified.
Next, future needs are considered; central air conditioning, electric water heater, remodeling a basement, feed to a garage.
Generators
Report
Now more than ever you need a competent electrical contractor to calculate electrical loads and estimate future use before the power goes off during a big snow storm or sweltering heat wave.
The monetary loss from a flooded basement, loss of a freezer of food or the furnace is out and just the inconvenience of no lights or well water are reasons many of your neighbors are choosing automatic stand-by electrical generator systems.
In addition to advice on the size of generator, we install several different "levels" of coverage.
Lighting
Report
Lighting is one of the absolutely biggest changes taking place in the electrical industry.
Government mandates eliminated many inefficient bulbs in the 90's and the federal Clean Energy Act of 2007 effectively bans incandescent bulbs that produce 310 to 2600 lumens of light by 2014.
There are some exemptions.
Regular fluorescent ballasts replaced with electronic ballasts and T-8 bulbs reduce the electrical load by 50% while producing nearly the same lumens.
Most office settings and retail stores have transitioned and are enjoying the cost savings, cooler operating temperatures, better color rendering, and longer bulb life.
Blueprint Design
Report
New construction or remodeling is an exciting time filled with the joys of new beginnings.
The NEC code outlines basic minimum standards that must be adhered.
Having someone in your corner that knows the code can be a huge asset.
In addition, having years of experience in electrical installations we can recommend materials, levels of lighting, lightning protection, LED lighting, spacing of outlets, surge protection, UPS, switch placement, energy efficiency and frankly, things that you may have overlooked or never considered.
Scary Pictures
Report
The following photos I have taken or received over the years that were unusual in some way.
This service fused disconnect needed a re-wire.
Three wires under one screw termination, the white normally neutral wire on a hot leg and a designated current carrying wire on the grounded conductor terminal.
Stand-by Generator Load Test Here we're performing a start-up load test on a stand-by generator for a local fire company.
It could be scary without a good plan.
A shattered roof remains after lightning strikes a pavilion, cleanly strips off the insulation of the wiring before entering to ground.
